| Q. How long should my hood last? |
| A. The life of a new hood / soft top on a vehicle depends on a many factors.
Direct sunlight and strong chemicals can effect the lifespan, as can leaving the hood folded down when wet.
Wherever possible, ensure the hood is cleaned carefully with an approved cleaner.
If the top is damp, always close the hood back up when leaving the vehicle to allow to dry. Typical life for a vinyl hood can be 7 to 12 years. A mohair (cloth) hood will last longer, possibly up to 15-20 years. (These are not guaranteed!). |
| Q. My rear window is damaged / discoloured / scratched / cracked. - Do I need a complete new hood? |
| A. It is not always necessary to replace the complete hood, in many cases it is quite possible to replace the window section only. Significantly cheaper than replacing a complete top!. |
| Q. Can my hood be fitted at a location of my choice (home or work)? |
| A. We can provide a home fit service. This depends on the vehicle model and facilities available for the work to be carried out. Please telephone on 0121 444 2288 to discuss. |
| Q. Are The Hood Guys, hoods and workmanship guaranteed? |
| A. Our hoods are guaranteed for a minimum of 12 months from date of fitting. |
| Q. My hood has a soft pvc window can, I upgrade to a glass window? |
| A. A frequent question - we are able to offer a glass window upgrade on some popular vehicles.
